RICHARDSON, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' women's cross country team won its second straight meet with a convincing win at the UT-Dallas Invitational on the UTD campus.
The Cowgirls finished with 36 points to easily outdistance second-place Mary Hardin-Baylor, which had 70 points. UTD was third with 74 points. The University of Dallas, North Central Texas, Southwest Assemblies of God and Dallas Christian rounded out the field.
Sydney Tencate paced the Cowgirls in the race, placing second with a time of 19:53 over the 5K course. Madison Hemenway was fifth with a 20:47, Lydia Farmer ran a 20:55 for seventh place, Riley Stirm was eighth with a 21:07 and Shelby Schmidt placed 14th with a 21:57 to round out the Cowgirls top five scorers.
Anna Wilgenbusch of the University of Dallas won the individual title with a time of 18:55.
HSU is back in action on Sept. 27 at the Concordia Classic in Austin.
