Cowgirls Drop ASC Finale

AUSTIN, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' volleyball team closed its American Southwest Conference slate with a 21-25, 25-15, 25-20, 25-13 loss on Friday night to Concordia in Austin.

The Cowgirls came out strong and took the first game 25-21, but the Tornados closed the match with three straight wins.

HSU had a balanced attack with three players – Megan Bauer, Morgan Prince and Sarah Bennett - leading the way with six kills each. Ashley Pierce had 16 assists and Rebekah Hayes added 10.

Defensively, Karlie Knapek had 16 digs, Bauer added 14 and Allison Kuster had 10. Megan Bauer had six service aces in the match and Kuster added five.  

HSU is 15-10 overall and 7-8 in conference play. Concordia improved to 17-9 overall and 11-3 in league play.

The Cowgirls will close the season on Saturday with a pair of matches against St. Thomas and Our Lady of the Lake at Mary Hardin-Baylor.
