Senior Day Sweep for the Cowgirls Over Howard Payne

ABILENE, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' volleyball won their Senior Day and American Southwest Conference game against Howard Payne 3-0 (25-15, 25-18, 25-17).

The Cowgirls completed the sweep of the Yellow Jackets with a great offensive day from seniors Allison Kuster and Morgan Prince, who had 10 and seven kills respectively in the three sets. Prince had an outstanding .778 kill percentage, going 7-9 on attacks.

Three other Cowgirls added to the offense with six kills each, Sarah Bennett, and seniors Peyton Mandrell and Meagan Bauer. Bauer also had 11 digs, leading the team, and four services aces on the day.

Ashley Pierce led the team in assists with 18 and senior Rebekah Hayes was close behind her with 14 assists.

The Cowgirls are 13-7 overall, 5-5 in the ASC, and will head to Richardson, Texas to play in the second ASC Crossover next Friday at 11 a.m. vs. UT Dallas and 3 p.m. against Belhaven.

Although Senior Day did mark the last home game for the Cowgirls, be sure to come out and watch HSU play at the other Abilene school down south on October 18th at 7 p.m.
