SAN ANTONIO, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' fell 25-15, 25-10, 25-20 to seventh-ranked Trinity on the first day of the Trinity Invitational in San Antonio.
The Tigers had a near flawless performance as they hit an amazing .384 in the match. Avery Tuggle and Kirby Smith each had eight kills.
HSU is now 3-8 on the year and Trinity improved to 7-2. HSU will play second-ranked Southwestern at 11 a.m. in Saturday and will close the tournament with a 2 p.m. game against Texas Lutheran.
