Cowgirls Close Home Slate With Win Over Howard Payne
ABILENE, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' volleyball team beat Howard Payne in American Southwest Conference action at the Mabee Complex on Saturday, 23-25, 25-20, 25-23, 25-15.

Howard Payne rallied for a win in the first set before the Cowgirls rolled off three straight wins to take the match.

It was the final home match for the Cowgirls' two seniors Lauren Wish and Lauren Pirkey.

Allison Kuster led the Cowgirls with 19 kills, Morgan Prince added 15 kills and Grace Schulz added 11. Lauren Wish had 24 digs and Rebekah Hayes added 20. Ashley Pierce had 52 assists for the Cowgirls.

Three HPU players Alyssa Beasley, Shelbie Harry and Zhartezia Bradley all had 11 kills and Analisa Anzaldua had 24 digs.

HSU is now 14-9 on the year and finished second in the ASC West with a 10-4 record. Howard Payne is now 8-14 on the year and 5-8 in league play. The Cowgirls will close the regular season next weekend at the Trinity National Tournament.
