Cowgirls Fall To UMHB In ASC Volleyball Action
BELTON, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' volleyball team fell to Mary Hardin-Baylor 25-16, 25-16, 25-21 in a battle for first place in the American Southwest Conference West Division on Tuesday night at the Mayborn Campus Center.

The Cru took control of the match with a pair of 25-16 wins in the first two games. The Cowgirls battled in a tough third set but the Cru made a late push for the win.

UMHB hit .337 as a team in the match and the Cowgirls hit just .129.

Grace Schulz continued her strong play with 11 kills to lead the Cowgirls' offense. Lauren Wish and Mary Johnson had eight digs each.

Ashley Pierce had 18 assists for the Cowgirls and Rebekah Hayes added 11.

Abby Voskul led the Cru with 11 kills and Maddie French had 10 kills in 11 swings for UMHB.

HSU is now 10-8 on the year and 6-3 in ASC play. UMHB improved to 14-5 overall and 7-2 in conference action. The Cowgirls will play LeTourneau on Friday at UT-Dallas in the second ASC Crossover.
