HSU Track Competes at Texas State Relays

SAN MARCOS Texas – Hardin-Simmons' men's and women's track competed in the Bobcat Invitational at Texas State in San Marcos in Friday.

Sammy Magallan had a 10:35.74 in the 3000m steeplechase, improving official record from the previous one he set last week in the event at TLU.

Jessica Eastham led the Cowgirls in all the major sprints. She had a 12.55 100m, a 25.82 200m, and a 1:00.62 in the 400m. E.J. Konah led the men with an 11.37 100m. Tanner Wright had a 22.36 in the 200m and Aaron Martinez had a 50.00 in the 400m. Martinez also led with a 1:56.30 in the 800m.

Briana Cruz led the women in the 800m running a 2:58.81. Cruz also led in the 1500m with a time of 6:14.06.

Alex Fulton led the Cowgirls in the 5000m with a 21:23.19. Lauren Franklin led in the 100m hurdles with a 16.25. Natasha Smith ran a 1:13.98 in the 400m hurdles.

River Smith led the Cowboys 5000m with a time of 16:42.82.  Joseph Gilligan had a time of 16:51 in the men's 110m hurdles. Hasanai "Go" Chanriang finished with a 54.44 in the 400m hurdles.

The women's 4x100 team of Destani Warner, Eastham, Johanna Jones, and Kearra Greer finished with a 49.14. The Cowboy 4x100 team of Konah, Daelen Warren-Fruge, Chanriang, and Wright finished with a 43.47.

Samantha Pennese led in the long jump with 4.99m. Pennese also led the triple jump with 10.28m. Teddy McIntyre led the Cowboys with a 6.47m long jump. He also had a 12.79m in the triple jump.

Sydney Cortes led the women with a 10.80m shotput. Laura Bennet led in the hammer throw with a 19.19m. Cortes led the Cowgirls in the javelin with an 18.11m.
