Cowgirl Track Hosts the HSU Relays

ABILENE, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' women's track hosted the HSU Relays in Abilene on Saturday.

Kearra Greer led the Cowgirls and placed second overall with a 12.43 in the 100m dash. The rest to compete in the 100m were Destani Warner (12.47), Johanna Jones (12.81), Julianna Taylor (13.47), Natasha Smith (13.57), Jenna Lord (13.57), and Lauren Franklin (13.79).

Greer also led the Cowgirls and again placed second overall in the 200m dash with a time of 26.00. The rest to compete in the 200m were Warner (26.94), Zada Washington (27.31), Taylor (27.80), Sam Pennese (27.34), and Alexi Bushong (27.97).

Leslie Gonzalez led the team in the 400m running a 1:07.93. Lauren Stokes led the Cowgirls in the 800m running a time of 3:09.14.

Veronica Ritz led the way in the 1500m with a 5:53.66. Briana Cruz ran a 6:46.82 in the 1500m.

Sydney Tencate placed first overall in the 5000m with a time of 20:09.54. Alex Fulton ran a 21:48.52 5000m.

Franklin won the 100m hurdles with a time of 16.27. Keely Eshelman clocked an 18.34 in the 100m hurdles. Smith led the team in the 400m hurdles with a 1:22.93.

The Cowgirl 4x100 relay team of Kendra Fisher, Warner, Jessica Eastham, and Kennedy Connor placed first overall with a 51.19. The second Cowgirl 4x100 team of Becky Kudayah, Washington, Lord, and Pennese placed second overall behind the A team with a time of 53.50.

Jones placed first overall in the long jump with a 16-10 ½ (5.14m). The three other Cowgirls in the long jump were Pennese 14-10 ½ (4.53m), Bushong 14-9 ¼ (4.50m), and Washington 14-4 (4.37m).

Laura Bennett led the Cowgirls in the discus throw with a 108-11 (33.21m). Sydney Cortes threw a 100-04 (30.59m) and Britni Starr had a 73.08 (22.46m).
