Cowgirl Track Gets Another Record in Lubbock

LUBBOCK, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' indoor track competed at the Texas Tech Open in Lubbock, Texas this Friday and Saturday.

Kearra Greer set a new Cowgirl track record by running a 1:00.85 in the 400m. Baley Green competed in the 400m running a 1:04.56. Destani Warner ran a 1:05.91, Leslie Gonzalez had a 1:06.73, Alexi Bushong clocked a 1:12.07, and Lauren Stokes ran a 1:19.33 in the 400m.

Senior Sydney Tencate competed in the mile with a time of 5:42.29. Yadira Loera and Briana Cruz also ran in the mile with times of 6:15.54 and 7:13.32 respectively. Jamie Talley competed in the 60H with a time of 10.64.

Jessica Eastham led the Cowgirls with an 8.03 in the 60m dash. The rest to compete in the 60m were K. Greer (8.16), Warner (8.12), Kendra Fisher (8.21), Johanna Jones (8.29), and Kennedy Connor (8.26).

Gonzalez and Stokes ran in the 800m with times of 2:41.27 and 3:14.17 respectively.

Eastham led the Cowgirls in the 200m with a 26.54. Others who competed in the 200m were Samantha Pennese (27.67), Fisher (28.05), Connor (28.13), Becky Kudayah (28.09), and Jones (29.51).

The women's 4x400 team of Eastham, K. Greer, Warner and Green had a time of 4:17.00.

Camryn Aldridge and Pennese also competed in the triple jump with jumps of 34-0 ¼ (10.37m) and 33-3 (10.11m) respectively.

Cowgirl track will compete on Feb. 15 in Lubbock at the Texas Tech Matador Classic.
