HSU Track Competes At Bulldog Relays
SEGUIN, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' track teams competed on Saturday in the 2016 Bulldog Relays at Texas Lutheran University in Seguin.

The event wasn't the normal track meet, just a variety of relay events and throwing relays as well.

The 800 sprint medley which is a pair of 100s, a 200 and 400 finished second with a time of 1:54.75. It was Samantha Penesse, Kennedy Conner, Myra Carrion and Molli Howard. The same group ran a 51.07 in the 4x100 and finished second with a 1:48.02 in the 4x200.

The 1600 medley team of Howard, Conner, Penesse and Sydney Tencate won with a time of 4:32.31, six seconds ahead of Texas Lutheran.

Tencate, Allie Crossland, Emily Olguin and Paige Goen ran a 14L09 in the distance medley to finish third.

Alyssa Western and Myra Carrion were the top female finishers in the mixed pole vault with a 10-4.

The 4x800 relay of Clay Smith, Abate Hennessy, Jonathan Cole and Conner Sutton finished fourth with a 8:51.62.

The 1600 sprint medley team of Brandon Sparks-Moffett, Elmer Ramirez, John Rich and Clay Smith finished second.

Duron Smith had a long jump of 20-3 ¾ to finish second. Jaelin Roberts was fifth with a 17-8.

Kyle Mann won the pole vault with a 14-3 ¼. Taner Renfro was third shot and fifth in the javelin

Both teams are off until March 25 at McMurry.
