SAN ANGELO, Texas — Hardin-Simmons had three school records fall to highlight its day at the David Noble Relays in San Angelo on Saturday.
Dustin Baker extended his school record in the shot put with a throw of 50-4, beating his old mark by more than two and a half feet. He placed third in the shot put and was also third in the discus. He is ranked 18th in the nation in the shot put and 43rd in the hammer and 48th in the discus.
Zeth Barron set the school mark in the pole vault with a 14-1 ¾ becoming the first Cowboy to go over 14 feet. He placed seventh in the event.
Clay Smith ran a school record in the 1500 with a time of 4:14.67.
Shelby McIntyre won the javelin with a throw of 120-0.
Cody Parker threw a pair of personal bests. He had a 41-4 1/4 in the shot put and 149-3 in the hammer, which is No. 2 on the school's all-time list.
HSU will host its meet next weekend.
