Cowgirls Stay Perfect in ASC West Play
ABILENE, Texas -- Hardin-Simmons' women's tennis team beat Howard Payne 7-2in American Southwest Conference West Division action on Friday afternoon at the Streich Tennis Center.

The Cowgirls took a 2-1 lead after three tightly-contested doubles matches. Shayne Cook and Michaela Ellison won 8-6 at No. 1 and Abigail Kendell and Lexie Graham teamed for a 9-7 win at No. 3 doubles.

Cook, Ellison, Kyra Mobley and Kendall all had straight set wins and Jasmine Briant won at No. 3 singles in three sets.

HSU is now 10-5 on the year and 2-0 in ASC West play. The Cowgirls will host Texas-Dallas at noon on Saturday. HPU fell to 3-11 on the year and 0-1 in league play.
