GREENSBORO, N.C. – Hardin-Simmons' defender Sarah Krisa and forward Kenne Kessler were named all-Americans by the United Soccer Coaches on Thursday night at the NCAA Final Four banquet in Greensboro, North Carolina.
Krisa is a senior from Midland and was named third-team all-American. She manned the backline of a Cowgirl defense that allowed only seven goals all season. Krisa also contributed offensively with four goals and was a primary threat on corners and other set pieces.
Kessler is a senior from Highland Village and was named first-team all-American. This is her second all-American honor, being named first-team her junior season as well. Kessler led the Cowgirls with 14 goals and had seven assists. Kessler was also the ASC offensive player of the year.
They are the seventh and eighth HSU players to be named first-team all-America by the United Soccer Coaches (formerly NSCAA). In all, 16 HSU players have been named first, second or third team all-American a total of 19 times.
