Cowgirls Beat McMurry 3-0

October 25, 2018

ABILENE, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' women's soccer team won 3-0 in Thursday night's American Southwest Conference game against McMurry.

The Cowgirls got rolling early with a Sarah Krisa header from a Josey Meyer corner in just the second minute.

To finish off the half, Kenne Kessler did what she does best by looping in a long, upper-90 goal from about 30 yards out, putting the Cowgirls up 2-0 at the half.

The Cowgirls' last goal came off the boot of Randie Dennison after a beautiful run by Taylor Bernal, who dished it to Dennison for the easy back post finish, making it a 3-0 Cowgirl win.

The Cowgirls had 12 shots, seven of them on frame, while the War Hawks totaled two shots and one on goal.

Caitlin Christiansen got the win, and Casey Carillo finished out the game with one save. War Hawk keeper Cindy Villasana had four saves.

HSU (13-1-1, 10-0-1 ASC) clinched the right to host the ASC tournament with Monday's win over UMHB. Games will be played Tuesday and Friday next week, with the championship on Sunday at 1 p.m. Once all ASC play is done, we will have the full schedule of match-ups and times.
