PINEVILLE, Louisiana – Hardin-Simmons' women's soccer team won 10-0 over Louisiana College on Thursday night's American Southwest Conference action.
Randie Dennison scored in the fourth minute to open the game up after a nice run and assist by Kenne Kessler. Rachel Bean added the second Cowgirl goal with a header off a Josey Meyer cross. Freshman Mackensie Moreno put her first career goal in the top corner of the net at 22 minutes.
After an own goal by the Wildcats, Finda Kollie made it a 5-0 HSU lead heading into the half, after a corner from Elly Green. Kenne Kessler added to the Cowgirl score after carving up the Wildcat defense, and Bean made her second in the 57th minute after a Meyer corner.
Kollie added her second goal after a nice battle for the ball, and Taylor Bernal finished the night off with a tap in after a ridiculous run and assist by Avery Lara, beating a handful of defenders on the way.
HSU had 24 shots with 14 on goal to the Wildcat's one shot. HSU had 11 corners while allowing none.
Caitlin Christiansen got the win in a half of play while Casey Carillo came in for the second half, neither seeing a save attempt. Louisiana College saw two keepers get action as well, Haley Clark and Lexi Tate, both with two saves in their halves of play.
HSU (8-1, 5-0 ASC) heads to Belhaven this Saturday to play at 5 p.m.
