LONGVIEW, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' women's soccer team won 4-0 against LeTourneau on Saturday in American Southwest Conference action with an amazing day from Randie Dennison.
The Cowgirls scored in the fourth minute with Dennison's first of the day off a Kenne Kessler assist. Kessler added her own goal in the 42nd minute, making it 2-0 for HSU.
With that goal, Kessler became the HSU career leader in goals scored for the non-scholarship era with 77.
Dennison put in her second goal at 68 minutes, off a deflected Evan Pipkin shot which Dennison headed in. In the 89th minute, Dennison finished her amazing day with her hat trick goal, making it a 4-0 win for the Cowgirls.
HSU had 17 shots with six on goal to LeTourneau's three total shots and one on goal. The Cowgirls dominated corners yet again, with an 11-2 margin over the Yellow Jackets.
Casey Carrillo got the start tonight between the pipes for HSU, her first of the season, and recorded the win with a save. Kayla Gable also saw time for the Cowgirls. The Yellow Jackets had Mackenzie Wilbanks with two saves in the start and had Mari Zeitlow come in as well.
HSU (5-1, 3-0 ASC) returns to Abilene to face Ozarks Thursday night at 5 p.m.
