SAN ANTONIO, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' women's soccer team beat No. 12 Trinity 2-0 on Friday night in San Antonio.
The Cowgirls opened the scoring with a looping gem from Kenne Kessler in the 36th minute. The second HSU goal was credited as an own goal but was a deflection off a Kenne Kessler headed-attempt from a Josey Meyer cross.
The Cowgirls had 12 shots in the game with four on goal. Trinity had seven shots and three on goal.
Caitlin Christiansen saved all three shots on goal she saw while getting the shutout victory. Tiger keeper Paige Wallace saved two of the shots on goal she faced.
HSU (2-1) will take a day off before playing Southwestern (Tex.) at 3 p.m. in Georgetown on Sunday.
