Cowgirls Win At UT-Tyler


TYLER, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' women's soccer team picked up a 1-0 win over Texas-Tyler on Thursday evening in a key American Southwest Conference matchup in Tyler.

Kenne Kessler headed home a Morgan McAdams cross in the fifth minute and the Cowgirl defense made it hold up for the win. The goal was the 14th of the season for Kessler. She has scored at least one goal in every game this season.

The Cowgirl defense had a stellar effort, allowing just two shots on goal in the entire match. HSU had a 12-7 overall lead in shots in the game and an 8-2 advantage in shots on frame.

Caitlin Christiansen worked the shutout in goal for the Cowgirls to improve to 8-0 on the year.

HSU is now 8-0 on the year and 4-0 in ASC play. UT-Tyler fell to 5-3 overall and 2-3 in conference play. The Cowgirls will play at the University of the Ozarks on Saturday at 1 p.m.
