Oehlert Leads Cowgirls At Watters Creek

 

PLANO, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' women's golf team played without its top two players due to injuries and the Cowgirls are in third place after the first day of the Texas Cup at Watters Creek in Plano.

Top player Ashley Riemitis missed the tournament with a shoulder surgery and No. 2 player Heidi Moser had to withdraw with a back injury, leaving the Cowgirls with just four players.

Baylee Oehlert led the way with an 81 and is in a tie for third place overall. Jordan Daggs and Kayleigh Mints each shot 92 and Taylor Thompson had a 99 for the Cowgirls.

UT Dallas leads the even with a 324 and Marissa Langer of the Comets leads the individual race after shooting a 77.

The teams will play 18 holes on Sunday to conclude the tournament.
