Cowgirls Sit in Third Place At West Region Invitational

GEORGETOWN, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' women's golf team is in third place after the first day of the West Region Invitational being played at the par-72, 5,878-yard Berry Creek Golf Club in Georgetown.

Heidi Moser shot an 81 in the first round and is currently tied for seventh overall. Kelsie Guinn was right behind her with an 82, which puts her in a tie for ninth place. Kayleigh Mints shot an 85, Ashley Reimitis carded an 87 and Jordan Daggs shot 92 for the Cowgirls.

Mary Hardin-Baylor and Southwestern are tied at 325 atop the leaderboard. The Cowgirls are 10 strokes back in third place. Schreiner, Trinity and Texas-Tyler each shot 338 to tie for fourth and Concordia is seventh with a 342 and Texas Lutheran is eighth at 346.

Stephanie Tutt of UT-Tyler leads the individual race by three strokes after shooting a 76. Emily Ming and McKenna Ralston of Mary Hardin-Baylor and Emily Campbell of Southwestern are all three shots back.

The tournament will conclude with 18 holes on Tuesday.
