ABILENE, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' women's basketball team made a late rally but came up short in a 78-71 loss to Nebraska Wesleyan on Monday at the Mabee Complex.

A quick 8-0 run early in the third quarter pushed NWC out to a 47-38 lead and it expanded to 61-46 at the end of the third quarter.
HSU chipped away the whole fourth quarter. Danie Mabry's steal and 3-point play cut the deficit to 72-69 with 1:31 to play but the Cowgirls could get no closer.
