Cowgirls Fall To LC, 75-67
ABILENE, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' women's basketball team fell 75-67 to Louisiana College in American Southwest Conference action at the Mabee Complex on Saturday afternoon.

The Cowgirls got off to a good start and led 17-12 after the first quarter. In the second quarter there were four ties and four lead changes and HSU led 34-31 at halftime.

LC took a 52-46 lead late in the third quarter, but the Cowgirls responded with six straight points and after LC hit a 3-pointer by Rometta Lombard Jasmine McClellan added a pair of free throws and LC led 55-54 going into the fourth quarter.

In the fourth quarter, HSU led 63-62 with 4:18 to play, but the Wildcats scored nine straight points which proved to be the difference in the tightly contested game that featured eight ties and nine lead changes on the afternoon.

Kourtney Holyfield led the Cowgirls with a season-best 16 points. Heidi Schroeder added 12 and Kayla Brown had a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds. Deontae Ingram had 11 points for the Cowgirls.

Kristen Teddlie had 18 points to pace LC and Brooke Jones had 12 points and 11 rebounds off the bench and Kristen Breaux added 12 points.

HSU is now 3-3 on the year and 1-1 in league play. LC improved to 2-2 overall and 2-0 in conference action. HSU plays at UT Tyler next Saturday at 1 p.m. in its next action.
