HSU Cross Country Teams Both Place 20th At Regional

 

ROME, Ga. – Hardin-Simmons' cross country teams both placed 20th overall at the South/Southeast Regional in Rome, Ga., on Saturday morning.

Both teams finished in the middle of the pack. Emory won the women's race with a score of 83 points, the Cowgirls had a team score of 530.

Sydney Tencate led the way for the Cowgirls with a time of 24:49 in the 6K race to place 58th overall. Brittany Acosta had a top 100 finish with a time of 25:54. Veronica Rita placed 118th with a time of 26:21.

Yadira Loera ran a 26:56, Leslie Gonzalez ran a 27:34, Lauren Stokes finished in 30:29 and Briana Cruz ran a 33:06.

On the men's side, Rhodes College won the race with a total of 71 points. HSU had a score of 570.

Tyler Rohrman led the way with a time of 27:44 and he placed 72nd overall. Aaron Martinez ran a 28:35 and Ben Splain ran a 28:37 and they finished 110th and 113th. River Smith ran a 28:54.

Sammy Magallen ran a 29:08 and Nathan McEndree and Tyler Stout each had sub 30:00 times with 29:28 and 29:46.

The meet concluded the cross country season for HSU.
