HSU Hosts Cowboy Classic
ABILENE, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' hosted the Cowboy Classic cross country meet on Friday evening at Nelson Park.

Ranger College came away with the team title with 25 points. Cameron was second with 36 points, McMurry was third with 76, UT-Permain Basin had 88 and Odessa and Sul Ross State rounded out the field.

HSU had two runners compete. Jonathan Cole finished 20th overall with a time of 23:35. Clay Smith was 43rd with a time of 28:17.

Amos Kipchumba of Ranger won the event with a time of 20:57.

The Cowboys will run in the Division III State Meet at East Texas Baptist on Oct. 3.
