Cowboy Track Starts Season with New Records

LUBBOCK, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' track and field started its season Friday at the Texas Tech Red Raider Invite at the Sports Performance in Lubbock.

Tanner Wright got the season going for the Cowboys with a new school record 21-6 (6.55) long jump, good for a top-ten finish. He also ran a 23.31 200 and a 7.32 60.

Aaron Martinez also began the year with a new Hardin-Simmons' record as well, running a 1:59.40 in the 800. He also ran a 51.00 in the 400.

Tyler Rohrman led the team in the 3000 with a time of 9:32.31. He ran a 4:57.10 mile as well.

Sammy Magallan headed the Cowboy efforts with a 4:52.56 mile. He also ran a 9:43.99 3000. River Smith ran in the two distance races, with a 9:58.47 3000 and a 4:59.52 mile.

Hasanai "Go" Chanriang ran the team's best 400, coming in at 50.95. Malik Pratt competed in the 400 with a 51.96 and ran a 2:04.00 in the 800.

Noah Straw ran a 56.75 400 and added a 7.51 in the 60. Shane Webber clocked a 58.79 400. E.J. Konah led the Cowboys with a 23.40 200 and a 7.26 in the 60.

Juwan Crawford finished with a 23.47 200 and a 7.30 60. Daelen Warren-Fruge ran for a 24.51 200 as well as an 8.66 60. Thomas Couch ran a 24.71 200 and had a 9.25 in the 60H.

The Cowboys' next event will be on Jan. 26 at the Weilert Invite in Norman, Oklahoma.
