Cowboys Finish Sixth At ASC Track and Field Championship

ABILENE, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' men's track and field team finished in sixth place at the American Southwest Conference Championship on Saturday afternoon at Wilford Moore Stadium.

UT-Tyler won the event with 173 points by six points over McMurry. HSU was sixth with 58 team points.

Hasanai Chanriang repeated as the 400 hurdles champion with a time of 54.19 to give the Cowboys their lone individual champion. He also earned all-ASC honors.

Nathan McEndree finished seventh in the 3000-meter steeplechase. Ben Splain finished fifth with a 35:34.64 in the 10,000 meters. Splain also placed sixth in the 5000 meters with a time of 16:28.

Jarrett Reneau finished third in the 110 hurdles with a 15.62 and Nygel Starling placed fourth.

Brandon Sparks-Moffett placed third with a time of 11.05 in the 100 final. Zach Fitch placed seventh in the 400 meters with a time of 51.76. Lorenzo Jones ran sixth in the 800 with a time of 2:05.01.

The 4x400 team placed fourth with a time of 3:30.18.

In field events, Myles Stennis was seventh in the long jump with a 21-11 ¾. Lorenzo Jones was sixth in the triple jump with a 43-6.

Devon Drane finished fifth in the discus with a toss of 143-10. He was also eighth in the shot put with a 39-5 ¾.
