COMMERCE, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' sent part of its track and field team to the East Texas Invitational at Texas A&M-Commerce on Saturday.
HSU held out several of its top athletes who were nursing nagging injuries as they prepare for the American Southwest Conference Championship next week at McMurry.
Paige Lindstrom threw the javelin 90-1. Olivia Bryant threw a 115 in the discus and placed fourth with a 37-4 ¾ in the shot put.
In the 100 hurdles, Paige Lindstrom ran a 17.09 and Logan Redding ran a 17.45. Redding also ran a 1:11.95 in the 400 hurdles and Natasha Smith ran a 1:15.76.
Destani Warner ran a 12.90 in the 100 and Aylin Neri added a 13.39 and Tearra Greer a 13.40. In the 400, Jessica Eastham ran a 1:02.43 and Lauren Robson added a 1:03.68 to lead the HSU contingent. Kearra Greer finished eighth in the 200 with a 26.08. Tearra Greer ran a 28.08 and Neri ran a 28.39.
Yadira Loera ran a 22:48 in the 5,000.
Nygel Starling ran a career-best 58.17 in the 400 hurdles and Jylan Burris ran a 1:01.41. Hasanai Chanriang ran a 51.66 in the 400, Cesar Ramirez ran a 52.33, Zach Fitch a 54.02 and Antojuan Spoons a 56.48.
Clayton Holmes ran a 11.29 100.
Ben Splain ran a 4:23 1,500 and a 16:54 in the 5,000 and Stephen McKendree ran a 17:31 and Richard Denton ran a 17:59 in the 5,000 and a 4:35 in the 1,500.
