Several HSU Track And Field Athletes Compete At Incarnate Word

SAN ANTONIO, Texas -- Hardin-Simmons had a handful of athletes that competed in the University of the Incarnate Word Spring Break Classic in San Antonio on Thursday and Friday.

Lorenzo Jones had a jump of 20-1 ¾ in the long jump and had a leap of 42-1 ¼ in the triple jump to place second. Jones also placed eighth in the 800 with a 2:02.  

Sammy Magallen ran a 4:26.36 in the 1,500. Former NCAA qualifier Hasanai Chanriang ran a 55.20 in his first 400 hurdle event of the spring and he placed second.

Zach Fitch ran a 51.94 in the 400 and Antojuan Spoons ran a 56.08. Fitch ran a 23.79 in the 200. Cory Fairer (24.55) and Spoons (24.71) also ran the 200.

Brandon Sparks-Moffett ran an 11.03 in the 100 and Johnathan Reed ran an 11.49.

Sydney Tencate ran a 5:08.63 in the 1,500 to place ninth and she ran a 2:29.29 to place eighth in the 800 meters.
