Tencate Wins 10,000, Sparks-Moffett Sets School Record
ABILENE, Texas – Sydney Tencate won the 10,000 meters and Brandon Sparks-Moffett set the school record in the 100 meter prelims to highlight Hardin-Simmons' day at the American Southwest Conference Track and Field Championship at the HSU Track Complex.

Tencate won the gold in the 10,000-meter run final with a time of 42:41.69.

Myra Carrion finished second in the women's 400-meter dash prelims with a time of 1:01.78. She also qualified for the finals in the 200 meter dash with a fourth place finish and a time of 26.63.

Rhea Harris, Kalimah Muhammad and Kennedy Connor all qualified for the 100 meter dash finals, finishing fifth, sixth and eighth in the prelims. Harris qualified for the 200 meters as well with a seventh place finish in the prelims.

Paige Lindstrom took home fourth place in the javelin with a throw of 103' 4".

Samantha Pennese and Rhea Harris tied for fifth in the long jump with a jump of 16" 3".  Harris finished third in the triple jump with a jump of 34' 4".

On the Cowboy's side, Nate McEndree finished fifth in the 10,000-meter run final with a time of 39:19.10. He also finished seventh in the 3000 meter steeplechase final with a time of 11:20.91.

Kyle Dodd, Andrew Fischer, Jerod Velasquez, and Jaylin Burris finished third, fourth, sixth and seventh in the men's 110-meter hurdle prelims to all advance to the finals tomorrow.

Hasanai Chanriang finished fifth in the 400-meters prelims with a time of 50.65. He finished first in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 1:00.40 to qualify for finals.

Brandon Sparks-Moffett set a new school record and finished first in the 100-meter dash prelims with a time of 10.77. Warren Graham also qualified for finals with a second place finish in the prelims at a time of 10.82.

Kaelon McLemore threw 128' 10" in the hammer to finish second in the hammer throw finals. He also finished fourth in the javelin with a throw of 146' 8".

Duron Smith finished second in the triple jump with a jump of 43' 6". He also placed fifth in the long jump with a jump of 20' 8".

The Cowboys and Cowgirls will conclude the ASC Conference Championships on Saturday starting at 9 a.m.
