HSU Competes In Trinity Open

SAN ANTONIO, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' track and field teams had a solid meet at the Trinity Open in San Antonio.

Paige Lindstrom placed sixth in the women's javelin and the 100 meter hurdles. She threw 27.89 meters and ran a time of 17.78. Myra Carrion finished tied for fifth in the pole vault with a jump of 3.30 meters.

In the pit, Rhea Harris would finish tenth in the long jump with a jump of 4.97 meters.

In the 4x100 meter relay Myra Carrion, Kennedy Connor, Samantha Pennese, and Kalimah Muhammad placed fifth with a time of 50.78 seconds.

In the mile run, Sydney Tencate finished in eighth with a time of 5:04.06. Emily Olguin finished 18th. Tencate also finished fourth in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:29.31 Myra Carrion placed 11th in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:02. Rhea Harris ran a 13.19 in the 100.

The girls would end their day with the 4x400 meter relay and a fifth-place finish. Molli Howard, Sydney Tencate, Samantha Pennese and Myra Carrion finished with a time of 4:26.86.

On the men's side, Connor Iacomini took home fifth place in the pole vault with a jump of 4.10 meters. Kaelon McLemore finished seventh in the shot put with a throw of 11.64 meters.

In the 4x100 meter relay with a team consisting of Hasanai Chanriang, Kyle Dodd, Warren Graham and Kevin Lavalais finished sixth with a time of 44.11 seconds.

In the hurdles, Kyle Dodd finished seventh in the 110 meters with a time of 16.06. Jerod Velasquez finished 13th. In the long heat, Hasanai Chanriang finished fourth overall in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 56.03. Jylan Burris placed 12th.

HSU is next in action March 24th at McMurry's Warhawk Classic.
