Texas-Tyler leads the women's race with 80 team points, Hardin-Simmons is second with 57, Concordia is third with 24, East Texas Baptist has 11 points and Sul Ross State has nine points.
On the men's side UTT has 81 points, East Texas Baptist is second with 47 and Hardin-Simmons is third with 44 points and Sul Ross State is fourth with 13 points.
Rachel Ferguson won the women's high jump with a 5-3 ¾. Hailey Whiteside of Hardin-Simmons was third and Paige Goes was fifth. Cody Blakenship of East Texas Baptist won the men's high jump with a 6-8. Derek Footer was third for HSU and Trei Lewis finished fourth.
Kristen Adair of Hardin-Simmons won the triple jump with a 35-5 ¼ and Rhea Harris of HSU was third. Duron Smith of HSU won the triple jump with a 46-0 ½. The jump was also a new school record.
Whitney Simmons of Texas-Tyler won the hammer throw with a 183-4. Evlyn Collins, Rachel Davis, Elissa Paniagua, Kit Rhea, Rhea Harris and Paige Lindstrom of HSU finished second thru seventh.
Katie Baker of Concordia won the javelin throw with a toss of 100-09. Hailey Whiteside of HSU was second and Evlyn Collins finished fourth, Lindstrom fifth and Rhea sixth.
Matthew Godwin of UT-Tyler won the javelin with a toss of 174. Dustin baker of HSU was second and Jesse Edamura finished fifth.
Field events will resume at 9 a.m. on Saturday and the running events begin at 1 p.m.
