SAN ANTONIO, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' track and field teams had a productive day at the Incarnate Word Invitational on Saturday in San Antonio.

Evlyn Collins broke her own school record in the discus with a throw of 138-3 ¾. It is the 12th best throw in the nation this year in Division III.

The men's 4x400 team of Trei Lewis, John Rich, Derek Footer and Jeremy Harris ran a 3:28.23 for its best time of the season.

Derek Footer finished third in the 110 hurdles with a 14.88. Duron Smith finished sixth in the long jump with a 21-1 ¼ and fifth in the triple jump with a 43-7 ¾.

Dustin Baker continued his strong season with a strong showing. He had a 161-5 ¼ in the discus to place second. It is his second best throw of the season and he has two of the top 10 throws in the nation this year.

He also finished third in the shot put with a 49-4 ½ and was fourth in the hammer throw with a 155-3 ¾. Jesse Edamura finished fifth in the javelin with a 143-8.

Hailey Whiteside finished ninth in the 100 hurdles with a 15.81 and Kristen Adair was third in the pole vault with a 9-6 ¼.

Collins finished seventh in the shot put and Rachel Davis was eighth. Davis was also fifth in the discus throw and the hammer throw. Collins was third in the discus and sixth in the hammer.

It was the last tune up for the ASC Championship that HSU will host on April 24-25.
