Kyle Mann had the only record-setting performance for the Cowboys with a 14-11 effort in the pole vault. He placed second in the meet and broke Zeth Barron's record of 14-5 ¼.
Dustin Baker picked up a pair of wins on the day. He won the shot put with a throw of 49-4 and won the discus with a toss of 155-11. He was also fourth in the hammer throw.
Derek Footer won the 110 hurdles with a time of 14.99 and was second in the 400 hurdles with a 58.69.
The Cowboys finished fourth out of 12 teams. Western Texas College won the meet with 127 points, McMurry was second with 118, UT-Tyler placed third with 92 points and HSU had 74 points for fourth.
On the women's side, the Cowgirls placed second with 95 points. McMurry won the 14-team field with 125 points. Western Texas College was third with 93 points.
Paige Goen and Paige Lindstrom each scored points in the 100 hurdles and 400 hurdles. Goen was sixth in the 100 and seventh in the 400. Lindstrom placed seventh in the 100 and fifth in the 400. Goen was also fifth in the high jump and fourth in the javelin. Lindstrom added a second place finish in the javelin throw.
Kristen Adair placed third in the triple jump and fifth in the pole vault.
Rachel Davis placed second in the shot put, third in the discus and fourth in the hammer throw. Evlyn Collins was fourth in the shot put, second in the discus and second in the hammer. Elissa Paniagua was fifth in the hammer and discus. Kit Rhea was sixth in the hammer and third in the javelin.
