Cowboys Drop ASC West Title Tilt With UTD


RICHARDSON, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' men's tennis team fell 8-1 to UT Dallas in a showdown for the American Southwest Conference West Division title on Sunday afternoon in Richardson.

HSU picked up its lone win at No. 2 doubles when Alex Hunt and Chandler Livingston won a tiebreaker 7-5 to take a 9-8 decision.

Hunt and Jordan Davis each took their singles matches to three sets before falling.

The Cowboys finished second in the ASC West and are now 6-12 overall and 5-1 in league play. UTD improved to 9-1 overall and 6-0 in ASC play. HSU will play the University of the Ozarks in the first round of the ASC Tournament on May 3 in Richardson.
