Cowboys Move To Top of ASC West With Win Over UTD
ABILENE, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' men's tennis team moved to 2-0 in American Southwest Conference West Division play with an 8-1 win over Texas Dallas on Friday afternoon at the Streich Tennis Center.

The Cowboys took control of the match by sweeping doubles play in relatively easy fashion, 8-6, 8-3, 8-4.

HSU won five of six singles matches. Senior Nathan Chavez won a tough three-setter at No. 1 singles 6-4, 4-6, 10-8. Frankie Sanchez, B.J. Farmakis, Jordan Wilson and Andrew Eurek each won in straight sets at No. 3 thru No. 6 singles.

It was the final home match for Chavez and Jordan Wilson, the team's two seniors.

HSU is now 3-10 overall and 2-0 in ASC West action. UTD fell to 3-6 overall and 1-2 in ASC West play. HSU plays at Abilene Christian on Thursday in its next action. HSU is tied atop the ASC West standings with Mary Hardin-Baylor and those two play on Friday in Belton.
