Cowboys Drop Tough Match To Texas-Dallas

RICHARDSON, Texas  — Hardin-Simmons' men's tennis team pushed defending American Southwest Conference champion Texas-Dallas but the Comets prevailed 6-3 on Friday afternoon at the UTD Courts.

UTD came through in doubles with a trio of close wins. Casey Clark and Byron Cole beat Erich Bein and Michael McCullough, 8-6 at No. 1 and Jordan Wilson and Nathan Chavez lost their No. 2 doubles match in a tiebreaker and Sam May and Andrew Eurek lost 9-7 at No. 3 doubles.

In singles play, McCullough won in straight sets at No. 2, May won in three sets at No. 4 and Wilson won in three sets at No. 5. Bein and Eurek each lost tough three setters and Chaves lost in straight sets but one of them went to a tiebreaker.
