ABILENE, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' men's soccer team lost 2-1 against the Texas-Dallas Comets on Saturday night at the HSU Soccer Complex in American Southwest Conference play.
The Comets would rally late with a hand ball penalty goal by Hunter Williams in the 74th minute and an Alfredo Kaegi score in the 79th to steal the win from the Cowboys 2-1.
The Cowboys had 10 shots and three on frame and the Comets had 24 shots and seven on goal. The Cowboys had two corners to the Comets' six.
Trent Ivy started in goal for the Cowboys and had five saves in the game. John Nicknish started at keeper for the Comets and had two saves and Trey Nickel played the second half for the Comets.
The Cowboys fall to 11-2 on the season and 4-2 in the ASC. The Comets are now 9-3-2 and 3-1-2 in conference play. The Cowboys return to action next Thursday at 3 p.m. against Howard Payne in Brownwood.
