Cowboys Keep the Streak, Win 3-0 over LC

ABILENE, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' men's soccer team won 3-0 against the Louisiana College Wildcats on Thursday night at the HSU Soccer Complex in American Southwest Conference play.

Freddy Hernandez scored in the 15th minute off a Frane Vidosevic assist to make it 1-0 Cowboys.

The scoring slowed until a Cowboy free kick in the 67th minute was nicely placed by Austin Wills for a header finish by Miguel Rosas to make it a 2-0 Cowboy lead.

Freshman Caziah Yame got his first career Cowboy goal with the help of a Darios Masha assist in the 85th minute and the boys were all smiles for the camera to finish the night winning 3-0 and making it eight straight wins.

The Cowboys had 35 shots and 15 on frame to the Wildcats' three shots with none on goal. The Cowboys also had 10 corners to Louisiana College's zero.

Rafa Mejorado started in goal for HSU and got the shutout win. Caleb Cruz had a night with 12 saves for the Wildcats in the loss.

The Cowboys are 8-0 and now 1-0 in the ASC and Louisiana College falls to 0-6 and 0-1 in the conference. HSU soccer returns this Saturday with a men and women's ASC doubleheader against Belhaven with games at 5 and 7:30 p.m.
