Cowboys Shutout Concordia 2-0

ABILENE, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' men's soccer team shutout Concordia on Sunday afternoon for a 2-0 win in American Southwest Conference play.

Kiko Redondo got the Cowboys on the board right before half with a goal, assisted by a long throw in and a headed pass from Reid Stewart and Austin Willis.

Blaine Phariss got the insurance goal in the 64th minute for HSU after a cross and deflection by Austin Willis and Gilbert Mugisha, making it a 2-0 Cowboys win.

The Cowboys had 15 shots and six on goal, while the Tornados shot 11 times and had four on frame.  

Trent Ivy had four saves in the shutout win. Tornado keeper Rob Oakley had four as well.

HSU (4-8-2, 4-4-1 ASC) will play at UMHB on Monday night at 7:30 p.m. followed by McMurry on Saturday night.
