September 8, 2018

SAN ANTONIO, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' men's soccer played to a 1-1 tied against UT Dallas on Saturday evening at Trinity University in San Antonio.

This hard-fought match did not see a score until the 73rd minute, when the Comets' Donny Smith put one in the net through traffic from a Jesse Ardila assist. The Cowboys stormed back with the tying-goal just six minutes later, when a nice set piece from Frane Vidosevic found Kiko Redondo for the team's first goal of the season.

The Cowboys had nine shots in the match with six on frame. UT Dallas had 10 shots in the game and five on goal.

Trent Ivy got four saves on five on goal attempts. The Comets' keeper John Nicknish managed five saves seeing six shots on goal.

HSU (0-3-1) wraps up this weekend in San Antonio and returns to action with its first home game of the year next Saturday at 7:30 p.m. against Sul Ross State.
