Cowboys Drop Game in Atlanta to Oglethorpe

ATLANTA, Ga. – Hardin-Simmons' men's soccer team lost 2-0 at Oglethorpe Saturday afternoon to wrap up the team's opening weekend.

The first goal for Oglethorpe was in the 41st minute off a deflected cross, an own goal for the Cowboys. In the 54th minute, Devon Patterson headed in a corner from Topher Marshall to give the Stormy Petrels their second goal.

The Cowboys had seven shots compared to Oglethorpe's 17, as well as three corner kicks to eight respectively. Six of the eight on goal shots against Trent Ivy were saved, while all three of the Cowboys on goal attempts were saved by Oglethorpe's Scott Zoino.

HSU (0-2) returns to Texas next weekend to play at Trinity on Friday at 6 p.m.
