RICHARDSON, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' men's soccer team picked up what could become a crucial point on the road as the Cowboys and Texas Dallas played to a scoreless draw in American Southwest Conference action on Thursday night.
Like usual when these two teams play it was a physical affair as the teams combined for 30 fouls and four yellow cards.
The Comets had an 18-10 advantage in shots in the game, but just a 6-4 advantage in shots on target.
HSU had five shots in the two overtime periods, to just three for the Comets.
Trent Ivy had five saves for the Cowboys and John Nicknish had four for the Comets as both recorded shutouts on their records.
The Cowboys are now 4-3-2 on the year and 3-2-2 in ASC play. UTD is now 6-5-1 overall and 4-3-1 in conference action. HSU will play another big match on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. at Howard Payne.
