ABILENE, Texas – Sophomore Frane Vidosevic scored a pair of goals to lead the Hardin-Simmons men's soccer team to a 2-0 win over Southwestern on Saturday afternoon at the HSU Soccer Complex.
Vidosevic put the Cowboys on the board just before halftime off an assist from Matthew Hopkins. The match remained 1-0 until the 84:09 mark when Vidosevic again found the net on an assist from Jorge Cerrillo to put the game away.
HSU was out shot in the contest 20-6, but the Cowboys put four of their six shots on frame and two found the back of the net. Southwestern only had five of its 20 shots find their way on frame.
Carlos Enriquez had five saves and worked the shutout in his first career start in goal for the Cowboys. Ryan Benner took the loss for Southwestern.
HSU is now 1-1 on the year and Southwestern fell to 2-2. The Cowboys will play an Alumni game next Saturday at 4 p.m., before starting conference play against LeTourneau on Sept. 21.
