Trinity Strikes In Final Seconds To Win 2-1
SAN ANTONIO, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' men's soccer team fell 2-1 to No. 5 Trinity on Thursday night in the season opener at McGinlay Stadium in San Antonio.

The Tigers came up with a goal by Austin Michealis with :11 to play for the game winner. The ball was loose in the box and Michaealis was able to get a foot on it and get it into the net.

Michealis gave the Tigers a 1-0 lead on a similar scramble and finish in the 11th minute of the game.

HSU tied the game in the 66th minute when Abate Hennessy found Zach Miller at the top of the box and he found the back of the net to tie the game at 1-1.

Senior goalkeeper Michael Vargas kept the Tigers off the board with four diving saves in the second half before the late game winner and he had nine total saves on the night. Trinity outshot the Cowboys 20-10 and 11-3 on target.

The two teams will play again next Friday again in San Antonio as part of the SCAC-ASC Challenge.
