BELTON, Texas – Mary Hardin-Baylor exploded for 63 second-half points en route to a 105-69 win over Hardin-Simmons in American Southwest Conference West Division play at the Mayborn Campus Center in Belton on Thursday.
The two teams played a tightly-contested first half which featured eight lead changes and seven ties. UMHB led 42-38 at halftime.
It was all UMHB in the second half as the Cru hit 19-of-30 shots and held the Cowboys to 10-of-38 shooting.
Steven Quinn led the Cowboys with 12 points. Nine different Cowboys had five or more points in the game.
Brian Long led the Cru with 24 points and Sam Moore added 23.
HSU is now 9-7 overall and 4-3 in ASC action. UMHB improved to 13-3 and 4-3 in conference play. The Cowboys close out their 10-game road trip with a 3 p.m. game at Concordia on Saturday.
