CLARKSVILLE, Ark. – Hardin-Simmons' men's basketball team picked up an American Southwest Conference road win with an 82-71 win over Ozarks on Wednesday night in Clarksville, Ark.
Ozarks took an early 17-10 lead in the first half. The Cowboys then used a 17-2 run late in the half to take a 36-26 lead. Keenan Holdman scored 10 of his 17 points in the run. HSU led 39-33 at halftime.
In the second half, HSU used a 9-2 run to take a 51-44 lead. The Cowboys led 64-60 with 5:54 and then Jalen Terry hit back-to-back 3-pointers to push the lead out to 70-60 and HSU was able to close it out down the stretch.
Holdman led three Cowboys in double figures with 22 points and he also had eight rebounds. Terry had 15 points and Chris Barrett had 14 points, five assists and five steals.
Lance Gardner had 15 points to pace the Eagles.
The Cowboys are now 5-3 on the year and 2-2 in ASC play. Ozarks fell to 2-6 overall and 1-1 in league play. HSU will play at UT Tyler on Friday at 7:30.
