Cowboys Explode For 15-2 Win At Schreiner

 

KERRVILLE, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' baseball team erupted for 15 runs in a 15-2 win at Schreiner on Tuesday afternoon at Bob Henry Field in Kerrville.

HSU scored four times in the first inning. Brett Hudspeth had a sacrifice fly and Matthew Lillard had a three-run home run in the inning.

The Cowboys then scored nine runs on seven hits in the fourth inning. Cade Johnson had a two-run double, Jamie Dominguez an RBI single, two runs scored on passed balls, Tyler Bradshaw added a two-run double, Jacob Rains had a sacrifice fly and Danny-David Linahan had an RBI double.

Rains had three hits and Bradshaw had two hits and drove in three and scored three times. Dean Blevins had two hits for Schreiner.

The Cowboys used a bullpen by committee and Tyler Madrid earned the win. Schreiner used seven different pitchers in the game.  

The Cowboys are now 8-11 on the year and Schreiner fell to 8-13. The Cowboys will host McMurry in a three-game series this weekend, starting Friday at 7 p.m.
