Cowboys Fall To Tornados

 

GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' baseball team lost to Concordia 11-2 in the final game of the Rusty Greer/Jackie Moore Invitational at AirHogs Stadium in Grand Prairie.

The Tornados scored four times in the bottom of the first inning. HSU responded with an RBI single by John Paul Tople in the third inning and Cade Johnson added a sacrifice fly in the third.

Concordia added a run in the fourth, three more in the fifth and two in the seventh inning. The Tornados had 18 hits in the game.

Michael Hicks and Jacob Rains each had two hits for the Cowboys.

Taylor McMackin started for the Cowboys and allowed four runs on four hits and two walks in one-third of an inning. Channing Hickman, Andrew Hernandez and Chase Buchannan al worked in relief.

Dakota Limon went two innings for Concordia and was replaced by Taylor Barksdale, who worked four innings for the win.

HSU is 1-2 on the year and Concordia improved to 3-0. HSU will play at Texas Lutheran next weekend.
