Cowboys Fall At Trinity
SAN ANTONIO, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' baseball team lost its fourth straight game with a 14-0 loss at defending national champion Trinity on Tuesday evening in San Antonio.

Trinity scored five runs on four hits and five wild pitches in the first inning and never looked back. The Tigers added two runs in the fourth, fifth and sixth innings and added three more in the seventh.

James Nittoli earned the win allowing just one hit in four innings. Mark Tindall, Taylor Hoesen, Ian Hussian and Mike Maul all worked out of the bullpen for the Tigers.

Colton Parker's two-out single in the fourth inning was the Cowboys only hit of the game. Parker Cormack had four hits and drove in three for the Tigers.

Chandler Carter was the first of six HSU pitchers and he took the loss allowing five runs in two-thirds of an innings. Channing Hickman was effective for the Cowboys working three and one-third innings allowing just two runs. Hayden Day, Brock Bourland, Kyle Johnson and Blake Northrop all worked an inning.

The Cowboys are now 16-21 on the season and play Sul Ross State this weekend. Trinity improved to 25-14.

HSU will assure themselves a slot in the postseason with two wins, anything less would take some help. Howard Payne, Louisiana College, HSU and Sul Ross State are battling for the final three slots into the postseason.
