Melissa Ericson, DAT, LAT, ATC
Assistant Athletic Trainer
Melissa Ericson enters her second year at HSU as an assistant athletic trainer. Her primary responsibilities include working with the women’s soccer and softball teams.
Originally from Waterford, Wisconsin, Ericson completed her Bachelor of Science in athletic training degree at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire in 2015. While obtaining her degree, she had the opportunity to complete an internship with USA Baseball in the summer of 2014. Ericson then completed her doctorate in athletic training degree at Indiana State University in 2017. During her two years at Indiana State, she worked as the primary athletic trainer for Indiana State University Baseball as a graduate assistant and served as a preceptor for athletic training students. She also completed research entitled “Effects of Compex® as a Warm-up for Glenohumeral Range of Motion”, which she presented at the National Athletic Trainers’ Association Annual Symposium and is in the process of publication.
Ericson is currently a credentialed athletic trainer by the Board of Certification and is licensed to practice athletic training in the state of Texas. She is also a member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association.
